Meet The Artist:
Teresa (Huffman) Caw
“Spending time outside close to nature and playing with the family dogs were two elements instrumental to my existence as a child,” Even as a child I couldn't resist gathering and collecting found objects like rocks, pine cone, leaves, any Elements of Nature. There for Much of my art work involves natural and found subjects.” I've always had a real passion for vintage items & love incorporating them into my work. I like the look and individuality hammered solder lines give each piece, therefore I do not strive to have smooth soldering says Teresa Huffman Caw.
Teresa’s interest in art escalated as a student at East Muskingum where she took classes in charcoal and pencil drawing and water color and acrylic painting. Leaveing John Glenn High School with teaching in several areas of art her horizons changed to include ceramics, calligraphy, Needle Felting, jewerly, mosaic and finally stained glass, which became her primary passion.
One of Teresa’s biggest joys is to use her gifted hands and warm heart to create memorable pieces for others. Designing all her own patterns her past experience and talents working as a home decorator carry on in her art. She welcomes the opportunity to include her client’s heirloom articles in specially created pieces.
Teresa works from her home studio. At one time Teresa Was in Elements Art Studio with Cheryl Randles, when Elements closed Teresa choose to return to totally working from home once again.
Creating Pet memorials for several appreciative dog owners who have lost their beloved pets. “This is one area that has really warmed my heart“, says Teresa. “Dogs are very special animals and humans have much to learn from them.” Being an animal lover Teresa has donated several pieces of her work to different fund raisers such as The National Yorkshire Terrier Rescue and the Bosco fund raiser auctions.
